September 15th

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 800 block of Gelston Pl.
Around 0706 hours, an officer was patrolling the area and noticed an unoccupied suspicious vehicle. The officer conducted a records check of the license plate and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department.

Residential Burglary – 7300 block of Pebble Beach Dr:
At 1816 hours, officers responded to the report of an interrupted residential burglary. The victim arrived home to find a Hispanic female, 20s-30s, standing in his hallway. She fled out the front door to an awaiting vehicle. The suspect stole personal items of the homeowner.

Hit and Run Collision - San Pablo Ave./ Fairmount Avenue:
At 1922 hours, an officer responded to the report of a hit and run collision. A woman driving a Mercury collided with another vehicle causing minor damage and then fled the scene. The officer conducted follow up, discovered the suspect lived nearby. The officer responded to the scene and located the suspect’s vehicle in Richmond. Apparently the suspect collided with a telephone pole and demolished the car when she arrived home.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave./Manila Avenue:
At 2121 hours, an officer contacted a 56 year old Richmond man during a pedestrian stop. The man was wanted on a No Bail warrant. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

September 16th

Auto Theft - 2000 Tapscott Avenue:
At 0451 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a green 2000 Dodge Caravan. The theft of the vehicle occurred during the night.

Auto Burglary- (9885 San Pablo Ave. (Peet’s Coffee)
An officer reports an unknown suspect smashed the window out of the victim’s vehicle and stole a brief case. The theft occurred between 0530 hours and 0600 hours.

Residential Burglary- 7700 block of Potrero Ave.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an open window while the occupants were asleep. The suspect stole electronics, keys and the victim’s vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The burglary occurred between 0200 hours and 0645 hours.

Theft from Vehicle- 7800 block of Potrero Ave.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole bank statements and a remote controller. The remote controller was later located in a nearby yard. The theft occurred between 9/15@ 1800 hours and 9/16@ 0700 hours.

Attempt Theft from Vehicle-1700 block of Julian Ct.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered two of the victim’s unlocked vehicles and rifled through the center console and glove boxes. No property was taken. The incidents occurred between 9/15@ 1900 hours and 9/16@ 0700 hours.

Attempt Theft from Vehicle-2700 block of Del Monte St.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and ransacked the interior between 9/15@ 1615 hours and 9/16@ 0830 hours. There was no property loss.

Attempt Theft from Vehicle- 1700 block of Julian Ct.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and ransacked the interior. No property loss was reported. The incident occurred in between 9/15@ 1900 hours and 9/16@ 0930 hours.

Auto Burglary-9996 San Pablo Ave. (Mechanics Bank)
A Community Service Officer reports an unknown suspect smashed out the window of the victim’s 2012 VW Golf parked and stole a purse that was left on the front passenger seat. The theft occurred between 1420 hours and 1430 hours.

Theft from Vehicle-1700 block of Julian Ct.
A Community Service Officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS device. The incident occurred between 9/15@ 1800 to 9/16@ 0830 hours.

Warrant Arrest – 800 block of Elm Street:
At 1946 hours, officers responded to the report of disturbance. A 432 year old Richmond man was contacted and found have a controlled substance possession warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

September 17th

Residential Burglary-2300 block of Carquinez Ave.
An officer reports that an unknown suspect cut a hole in the wall of a home under construction at 2325 Carquinez and stole several tools between 9/12@ 1700 hours and the 9/13@ 0930 hours.

Theft from Vehicle-7800 block of Potrero Ave.
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and ransacked the interior. No property loss was reported. The incident occurred between 9/15@ 1200 hours and 9/16@ 1200 hours.

Assault on a Police Officer – 11000 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 1846 hours, a subject threw a rock at a patrol officer driving a marked El Cerrito Police Department patrol vehicle. The subject then fled on foot. The rock shattered the windshield of the patrol car but luckily the officer was not hurt. The suspect, a 30 year old Richmond resident was located at the Del Norte BART station. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on Assault on a Police officer, vandalism and a probation violation charges.

September 18th

Domestic Battery – 2400 block of Edwards Ave.
At 0730 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence after a neighbor heard a loud argument between a male and female. Officers contacted the victim and learned that his girlfriend, a 19-year old El Cerrito woman struck and bit him several times during an argument. The woman was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Commercial burglary – 700 block of Kearney St.
An unknown suspect broke into the main breaker box for several buildings, cut the wire, and stripped it from the conduit.

Warrant arrest, Possession of paraphernalia – 11100 block of San Pablo Ave.
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 38-year-old transient man for an outstanding warrant. The man was also found to be in possession of a glass pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential burglary – 800 block of Norvell St.
At 1730 hours, an unknown suspect broke a locked shed in the rear of the property and stole 2 cases of beer.

Warrant Arrest – 4900 block of Plaza Way.
At 1910 hours, while contacting a suspect in the previous residential burglary, a 26 year old Richmond woman was found to have a warrant for her arrest. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transport to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vandalism – Stockton Ave/ Kearney St
At 2003 hours, an officer reported that an unknown suspect damaged a stop sign pole mounted along the curb of this intersection.

Shoplifting – Luckys 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 2107 hours, a 42 year old Vallejo man was seen exiting the store with stolen merchandise and was contacted by a citizen. The man was identified by staff but no one was willing to place the man under citizen’s arrest. The man was released and the case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Officer for prosecution.

Robbery – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 2218 hours, officers responded to a report of a man inside the store brandishing a knife and trying to stab customers. Officers arrived and contacted a 52 year old Richmond man in the parking lot. Officers ordered the man, who was still believed to be armed with a knife, to the ground but he refused and instead turned to confront the officers. A taser device was deployed and the man was taken into custody without injury or further incident. The man was medically cleared and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Battery – Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Ave.
At 0051 hours, officers responded to a report that a male had spit on a waitress at the restaurant. The 30 year old homeless man was located a few blocks away and was positively identified as the responsible person. The man was placed under citizen’s arrest and booked before being transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

September 19th

Criminal Threats – Pic-n-Pac 10012 San Pablo Ave.
At 1750 hours, a man entered the business and attempted to purchase beer without proper identification. When he was refused service, the male pulled out a knife and threatened the life of the clerk. The man was later positively identified, however, the clerk refused to seek criminal prosecution.

September 20th

Theft – El Salva Mex 1122 San Pablo Ave.
At 2030 hours, an unknown suspect picked up a cell phone left behind by another customer and left the business.

Vandalism – 800 block of Contra Costa Dr.
Sometime between 1100 and 1900 hours, an unknown suspect broke the rear window of the victim’s vehicle. No loss was reported from the vehicle.

Missing Person – 100 block of Behrens St.
At 2255 hours, a parent reported that her teenage daughter had not returned home as expected and her last know location was the bowling alley in Albany.
