WHAT

The contractor is resuming the construction activities on the east side of Wilmington Avenue (abutting the Shell and Chevron gas stations) between 223rd Street and slightly before the I-405 Bridge. In an effort to expedite a concrete pour and paving operations for the widening of Wilmington Avenue, this work will necessitate a temporary, continuous day and night weekend street closure. Also, to prevent traffic congestion and maintain the safety of both, drivers and the construction crews, the northbound and southbound I-405 on- and off-ramps at Wilmington Avenue will be temporarily closed during this activity. See the map below for construction work zone, detours and alternate on-and off-ramps.

In addition, the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will also conduct its own construction activities during this time.

WHERE

Street Closure/Work Zone: Wilmington Avenue between 223rd Street and slightly before the I-405 Bridge.

Ramp Closures: Northbound and southbound I-405 on- and off-ramps at Wilmington Avenue.

WHEN/HOURS

* Friday night, September 25 through Monday morning, September 28, 2015

* 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. *(Continuous day and night closure/construction work.)

*Construction activity schedules and closures are subject to change due to inclement weather and/or other uncontrollable factors.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING WORK HOURS

Noise/Vibration: You may experience noise and vibration from back-up alarms, work crews and other construction related equipment. 

Access: Business and local residential access will be maintained at all times.

 Dust Mitigation: Water trucks will be on-site and used to minimize

dust. 

 Flagmen: Flaggers will be onsite when necessary to allow access to

traffic and insure the safety of traffic.
