Sheriff's Office investigators were able to identify one of the four subjects involved in last night's Burton Wells shooting incident, which left two men wounded.  Glenn Ricky Major Jr. was identified early in the investigation as one of the four African American male subjects occupying the gray sedan from which it is believed more than one gun was being fired at the two victims.  Earlier today investigators obtained warrants for his arrest for Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of a Violent Crime and two counts of Attempted Murder. 

Major Jr. was located by Sheriff's Office personnel this afternoon near Cardinal Road on Hilton Head Island.  Without incident he was taken into custody on the authority of the three arrest warrants, as well as three bench warrants issued by the City of Beaufort Municipal Court for unrelated incidents.  Major Jr. will be transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated following an interview by investigators.  

The identities of the subjects accompanying Major Jr. in the gray sedan, as well as the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting  are still under investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this shooting or the identities of the other subjects involved is urged to contact Sergeant Angela Boland at 843-255-3707 or CrimeStoppers 1-888-CrimeSC if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.  Additional updates regarding this incident will be released when available.
