Narrative:

On September 15, 2015, The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect involved in burglaries occurring in Newbury Park.

On September 15, 2015, investigators from the Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Bureau obtained information that a possible burglary suspect was currently in possession of stolen property. Investigators positively identified this suspect as Ronald Mueller, a resident of the Newbury Park area. Investigators with the Thousand Oaks Police Special Enforcement Unit assisted with the investigation and were able to identify other residences and locations associated with Mueller. Investigators eventually detained Mueller at a storage facility in Newbury Park. During a search of Mueller’s storage locker, stolen property was recovered from two recent burglaries. A search of Mueller’s residence resulted in the recovery of additional stolen property, methamphetamine and suspected cocaine. As a result of this investigation, Mueller was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for two counts of 459 PC / Burglary. Other drug related charges are pending.

During the course of this investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators worked in a collaborative effort with local businesses which assisted in positively identifying the suspect. There was additional suspected stolen property recovered during these searches and investigators are attempting to locate additional burglary victims. The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind its citizens to ensure they secure their residences, vehicles, and storage lockers in an effort to prevent burglaries and thefts.
