WPS advising of recent phone scam, requesting customers to pay on overdue balances with Green Dot Money Pak card purchased at CVS Pharmacy 
The Green Bay Police Department has received information from Wisconsin Public Service that several of their residential and small commercial customers have been receiving scam phone calls recently requesting the customers to pay several hundred to several thousand dollars on a supposed overdue balance. The scammer directs the customer to specifically go to CVS to purchase a Green Dot Money Pak card to pay for the overdue balance.
WPS, as well as other utilities and businesses, do NOT accept payment with a prepaid credit card such a Green Dot Money Pak cards. If you have any concerns regarding your bill, contact the utility directly using information from a recent bill.
