On July 9, 2015, at approximately 11:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting in the 2600 block of Gould Lane in the Palm City neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found two male victims, ages 25 and 22 years-old, in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to a local hospital by medics. The 25 year-old victim, Roberto Soria, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 22 year-old victim is recovering from his injuries.

About one hour after the shooting in the City of San Diego, Chula Vista Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Quintard Avenue, Chula Vista. At that location, they found 24 year-old Luaiza Burgos-De La Torre (Pamela Burgos) suffering from gunshot wounds and she was subsequently pronounced deceased.

On Friday, September 11, 2015, Chula Vista Crimes of Violence Detectives and San Diego Homicide Detectives, in coordination with Investigators from the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, booked 27 year-old Luis Alberto Ruiz of Chula Vista for the murder of both Roberto Soria and Pamela Burgos. Ruiz was already in-custody on another matter at the time of being booked. He is scheduled to be arraigned in San Diego Superior Court on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
