September 1st

Auto Burglary- 9895 San Pablo Ave (Peet’s Coffee)
An officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the window to the passenger side sliding door and stole the Victim’s suitcase from the left rear passenger seat. The suitcase contained approximately $480.00 worth of clothing, shoes, and hygiene products. The theft occurred between 0850 –0917 hours.

Stolen Vehicle - El Dorado Street / Yolo Avenue -
At 0940 hours, an officer responded to a residence at the request of the Richmond Police Department. The Richmond Police Department had stopped a vehicle registered to the residence and contacted a suspicious subject. The officer learned that the owner’s Toyota Camry was stolen between 1800 hours on 8/31/15 1800 hours and 0935 hours on 9/1/15.

Grand Theft – 2300 block of Tamalpais Dr:
At 1900 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft. In between 0815 hours and 1800 hours, an unidentified suspect stole (2) two foot high ceramic elephant statues off the victim’s front porch. The statues are worth approximately $1000.00.

Auto Burglary - 2935 San Mateo St.
At 1852 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect pried open the door of the victim’s vehicle in between 2030 hours on August 31st and 1800 hours on September 1st. The suspect stole clothing, personal documents and an air mattress.

Driving under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage: Potrero Ave./Lexington Avenue:
At 2151 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of San Pablo Avenue after leaving the motel. The driver, a 36 year old Kensington resident was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The subject was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

September 2nd

Driving under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage 5900 Cutting Blvd:
At 0218 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver of the vehicle, a 24 year old Richmond man was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and cite released to sober relatives.

Commercial Burglary - 11820 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0255 hours, Officers responded to the report of a window smash alarm at Steve’s Auto Care. Officers responded and discovered that the front window had been smashed and discovered the suspects fled prior to their arrival. A review of the video revealed that six black males 18-20 years old broke the window and entered the business. Once inside, the alarm activated and scared the suspects off. They fled to two vehicles parked across the street at McDonalds.

Disorderly Conduct - 6400 Cutting Blvd.
At 0440 hours, an officer contacted a heavily intoxicated subject by the Del Norte BART station. The subject a 55 year old, Richmond resident was taken into custody and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

September 3rd

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – San Pablo Avenue / Potrero Avenue:
At 1540 hours, an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle. The officer contacted the driver after he parked and quickly jaywalked across San Pablo Avenue. A check of the Dodge Intrepid revealed that it was reported as stolen to the Suisun City Police Department. The driver, a 45 year old Fairfield resident was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Base Cocaine Possession - Potrero Avenue / S. 55th St:
At 1914 hours, an officer observed a 51 year old Richmond resident discard a bindle containing base cocaine as he drove by. The subject was contacted and the controlled substance was recovered. The subject was arrested, booked and released on a citation.

Methamphetamine Possession – Warrant Arrest - 3060 EC Plaza:
At 0054 hours, an officer contacted a 47 year old transient woman during a pedestrian stop. The woman was wanted on a No Bail LAPD grand theft warrant. She was also found in possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

September 4th

Residential Burglary – 7000 block of Fairmount Ave
Between 0200-0800 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence through an unsecured front door and ransacked the interior. Misc. items were taken including a jar of coins worth $200.00.
Arrest for Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance,

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Carlson Blvd at S. 55th St.
At approximately 1433 hours an El Cerrito Community Service Officer (CSO) noticed a suspicious male get into the front driver side seat of a red Honda Accord and drive southbound on Carlson Blvd from El Dorado St. The CSO provided dispatch with the license plate to the Honda which came back as stolen. El Cerrito police officers arrived, and conducted a traffic enforcement stop on Carlson Blvd at S.55th. The driver, a 22 year old male from Richmond, was taken into custody. During search of the male, El Cerrito police officers located a small plastic baggie containing methamphetamines and a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamines. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Traffic Collision/Arrest for DUI – Liberty St at Lincoln Ave.
At approximately 1729 hours El Cerrito police officers were dispatched to a solo vehicle collision into a parked car. Upon arrival El Cerrito police officers located a 39 year old male from Berkeley, wandering about the two vehicles. The male was stumbling around and was uncooperative with emergency personnel. The male exhibited signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The male blew in a preliminary alcohol screening device and his blood alcohol content was recorded to be .26% and 31% (over three times the legal limit to drive). The male complained of spinal pain due to the collision and was transported to John Muir Medical Center by AMR. An El Cerrito police officer followed them to the hospital. After a chemical test was completed, the male was cited and released on his charges.

Warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Sutter Ave
At 2315 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 49 year old female from Berkeley on a warrant. A search of her person incident to arrest yielded methamphetamines. She was cited on the new charges and transported to MDF on the warrant.

September 5th

Attempted Grand Theft of Tires – 600 block of Liberty St.
At approximately 0641 hours, the mother of the victim heard noises coming from outside their house and when she looked outside, she saw an unknown suspect stealing all four tires from her son’s vehicle. The suspect placed the tires into a blue Ford van. The mother and victim followed the suspect vehicle in their own vehicle, as it drove away from the residence. They followed the suspect to Cutting Blvd at Carlson Blvd, where they confronted the suspect. The suspect returned all four tires to the victim and told the victim not to call the police. The suspect fled northbound on Carlson Blvd. The victim did not call the police until after he retrieved all of his tires.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, in his 40’s, 5’10’s, 220lbs., wearing a blue mechanic jump suit with short black hair.

Grand Theft of Tires – 600 block of Liberty St.
Between 2230 on September 4th to 1115 hours on September 5th, an unknown suspect stole four tires from a Honda Pilot which was parked in the carport of the apartment complex.

Auto Burglary – Starbucks 3090 El Cerrito Plaza 0858 hours – Officer Trac reports that
Between 0850-0858 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window to the victims 2006 Infiniti G35 and stole the victim’s suitcase from the back seat. The suitcase contained $4105.00 worth of electronics and misc. items.

DUI – Carlson Blvd / San Diego Street
At 2331 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 35 year old male driver from Hercules for DUI. He was booked and cited.

Warrant – 800 block Elm Street
At 2333 hours, an officer arrested a 47 year old male from El Cerrito on a Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked and cited.

Attempted Robbery (Armed) – San Pablo Avenue / Waldo Avenue
At approximately 2300 hours, (S-1) pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded property. The victim fled on foot but was chased and tackled by (S-1) and (S-2). (S-1) and (S-2) struck the victim several times before fleeing empty handed in an awaiting gray 4-door vehicle. The suspects were described as follows:
(S-1) – BM, 17-20 years, 5-08, wearing an orange and purple hoodie and armed with a black semi-auto handgun
(S-2) – BM, 17-20 years, skinny, wearing an H&M Rain Jacket and white Nike Air force Ones

DUI, Pursuit – Carlson Blvd / Central Avenue
At 0202 hours, an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle which fled northbound on Carlson Blvd but eventually decided to yield on Carlson Blvd at S. 55th Street. The 64 year old male driver from Richmond was arrested for DUI. He was booked and cited.

September 6th

Warrant Arrest – Freeway Motel 11645 San Pablo Ave
At 1544 hours during a suspicious vehicle check, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 44 year old male from Richmond on two probation violation warrants. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – 10900 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 1713 hours an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 22 year old male from Albany on a DUI warrant. The male showed up to ECPD inquiring about his DUI court case. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – 2600 block Monte Vista Ave
At 2215 hours, an unknown suspect broke the front passenger window of the victim’s BMW and stole the owner’s manual from the glove compartment. The suspect was last seen westbound Barrett Ave from Monte Vista Ave in an unknown vehicle.
