RPD-Traffic Advisory.

The 2015 Paving Project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 8,2015. The scheduled work will involve the resurfacing of roadways, drainage structure repairs (where necessary), new curb and gutter (where necessary) and new sidewalk ramps at all intersections. In areas in which new curb and gutter are being installed, the adjacent area will also be replaced. This includes courtesy walks, driveway aprons and/or sod.

During construction, the road will be open to local resident traffic only during working hours, 7am-5pm. Residents will need to remove all vehicles they plan to use each day from the roadway; no parking will be allowed on the street during construction operations. No parking signs will be installed prior to work beginning on your street. Access to driveways will be available throughout the duration of the project except for if/when your driveway apron is replaced.

If your driveway apron is replaced, driveway access will be restricted for approximately 10 days to allow for construction as well as proper curing of the concrete. You will be notified the evening prior to construction beginning via a written notice at your front door. During this period, you will be allowed to park on the street overnight. To avoid being ticketed, we ask that you notify the police of your vehicle’s make, model and license plate by calling (708) 447-2127.

If you have a sprinkler system in your front parkway, we ask that you clearly mark the location of these sprinklers, so that we can make precautions to avoid unnecessary damage. Prior to a property owner’s installation of a sprinkler system on public property, the property owner is required to provide the Village with a liability waiver which absolves the Village of repair responsibility for damage from projects involving the parkway. The Village also has no repair responsibility for sprinkler systems installed without provision of the liability waiver.
