Victorville Deputies, CHP, and Victorville Fire save a suicidal man from jumping onto the freeway

LOCATION: Palmdale Rd OC c/o SB 15Fwy, Victorville, CA
SUSPECT(S): Mario Delvalle, 34, resident of Victorville, CA
VICTIM(S): N/A
SUMMARY: At approximately 10:45 a.m., Victorville Deputies responded to a report of a man preparing to jump to the freeway below. Deputies G. Garcia and E. Oliveros found Delvalle holding on to the protective fence of the Palmdale bridge ready to jump. Both Deputies immediately began talking to him and building a rapport. CHP assisted in closing the freeway, and Victorville Fire responded with a ladder truck. Garcia and Oliveros displayed courageous calm and were able to convince Delvalle not to jump. He was safely brought down with the use of the ladder truck and taken for treatment. Exemplary professionalism and teamwork by all agencies and personnel involved lead to the saving of Delvalle's life.
