A Death Investigation is being conducted after a body was located in a vacant field in Victorville

LOCATION: Vacant Desert Field North of Air Expressway/Gas Line Road, Victorville
VICTIM: Unidentified Doe 17-15
SUMMARY:
On Friday, September 4, 2015, Victorville Sheriff’s Station Deputies and medical aid responded to the report of a deceased body found in a vacant desert field in Victorville. Upon the arrival of the first responders, they realized the subject was clearly deceased. A death investigation was immediately initiated and the Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division assumed the investigation.
Investigators processed the area and examined the decedent’s remains in an attempt to identify the individual and determine how the death occurred. Due to the condition of the decedent’s remains, the identity and gender has not yet been confirmed. Detectives are actively investigating all of the information known at this time and an autopsy will be conducted in the near future to assist in this process.
