The Arlington Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a kidnapping and sexual assault suspect of a woman in July of 2014. Detectives are circulating the attached bulletin in the area where the offense occurred. Investigators believe that the suspect may have some ties to this area and that someone in the community may know him.

On July 26, 2014 at around 1:35 a.m., a woman was parked at a sports bar in the 2200 block of E. Abram Street. As she was seated in her car, a man approached her and entered her vehicle while displaying a handgun. The suspect forced her to drive to an industrial area in northeast Arlington where he assaulted her. During the commission of the assault, the woman grabbed the man’s gun and fired it at the suspect. Based upon her interview and evidence found at the scene that night, investigators believe the suspect suffered a gunshot wound and fled the scene on foot. Officers searched the area extensively into the next day but were unable to locate the suspect. As detectives have continued working this case, an updated community bulletin was prepared to generate new leads.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 38-45 years of age, with a possible tattoo on the front of his torso. The suspect spoke Spanish but is believed to also speak English. Investigators believe the suspect might have been shot in the arm or upper torso area during the course of the assault.
