The Chula Vista Police Department’s Traffic Division and Crimes of Violence Unit are seeking information regarding the potential hit and run incident that occurred in the early morning hours of 08/27/2015 in the 2300 block of Heritage Road. In this tragic case, Anthony Hofer, 17, was found deceased along the side of the road by a passing jogger. The report by the Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that the cause of death was trauma to the head, consistent with being struck by a vehicle. COV detectives located a witness who recalled seeing the juvenile walking in the bike line southbound along Heritage at just after 1:00 a.m. The Hofer family is coordinating with Crimestoppers to offer a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of a suspect.
