On 09/02/2015, at approximately 12:41 a.m., Morgan Hill Police Officer's were dispatched to the 7-11 convenience store, located at 295 W. Main Avenue, to investigate the report of a prior robbery. Upon arrival it was discovered that a black male adult, approximately 6'0" tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red billed hat and black pants walked into the store and brandished a small black hand-gun at the victim. The suspect demanded the victim to open the cash register, which the victim initially refused. The suspect then punched the victim in the face and forced the victim to open the register. Seconds later, the suspect removed the cash from the register and was last observed running west toward Crest Avenue. The victim was transported to Saint Louise Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

The Campbell Police Department reported a similar incident that occurred on 09/01/2015 at approximately 11:37 p.m. During the Campbell case, two black male adults entered the Food Mart located at 100 W. Hamilton Avenue and demanded money from the clerk. The physical and clothing description of one of the suspects and the modus operandi was a near identical match to the Morgan Hill robbery.

The San Jose Police Department also reported two robberies in which the suspects actions and description also resembled the Morgan Hill robbery, however, a direct link has not been made as of yet.

The Morgan Hill Police Department would like to remind the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity by calling (408) 779-2101 or 9-1-1.
