The Newcastle Police Department request OSBI investigative and crime scene assistance Friday afternoon after a woman was found dead inside a motel room at the Newcastle Motel at 1221 N. Main. Motel management alerted police of the body just before noon. Investigators are unsure how the woman died. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy. The woman's identity has not been confirmed at this point. Investigators are canvassing the area trying to construct a timeline of events for the woman.
