Shoplifting Ring Apprehended. Updated Arrest Date
Ripon, CA – The Ripon Police Department has arrested five suspects following an investigation into a shoplifting ring.
On 08-25-15, at 930 pm, Ripon officers were dispatched to the CVS drug store on Main Street regarding a shoplifting in progress being committed by multiple suspects. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and the suspect’s vehicle was stopped. Over 200 stolen items were located in the vehicle. The items included stolen alcohol, gift cards, clothing, perfume, toiletries, jewelry and makeup with an estimated total value of over $3000.
Detectives with Ripon’s Special Investigations Unit are in the process of contacting multiple retail establishments who were victims of this theft ring.
Ripon officers identified and arrested:
Deanna Nancydel Banks (21) of Hayward
Julian Alberto Hertier (26) of Union City
Sean Lamont Mitchell Jr. (23) of Hayward
Joy Anika Sloan (29) of San Leandro
Larry Donnel Williams II (27) of Oakland
The five suspects were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included shoplifting, conspiracy and receiving known stolen property.
