Ceres, CA – On August 25, 2015, at 10:03 AM, a Ceres resident riding his bicycle along the canal bank of 2100 block of Hatch Rd found a lifeless body submerged in the water. The Ceres Fire Department and the Ceres Police Department responded to the scene. The Stanislaus County Sheriffs Coroner’s office took custody of the body. The body was recently identified as 61 year old Richard Joseph Mountinho a member of the Ceres community. His identity was confirmed by his fingerprints.

An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death. The Ceres Police Department is encouraging anyone with information on this case to contact Ceres Police Detective Ferreira at (209)538-5616.
