Green Bay Emergency Crews responded to a report of a structure fire at Hernandez Auto and Tire located at 1902 N. Irwin Ave
At 2:30 AM the Green Bay Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at Hernandez Auto and Tire located at 1902 N. Irwin Ave. Upon arrival, Fire Crews found the business totally engulfed in flames. However, upon initially extinguishing the fires, emergency crews discovered the remnants of what they believed is a destroyed vehicle inside the building along with additional structure damage consistent with a vehicle possibly hitting the building. The Green Bay Police Department is on scene and investigating the incident as a traffic accident. At this time, the building remains very structurally unsound which is currently hampering the ability to search for/or identify the vehicle or any possible victims.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area of the 1800 N. Irwin Ave to East shore Drive and Radisson St, between N. Webster Ave and N. Baird St. All traffic in this area is currently closed and being rerouted at this time. Emergency Crews and investigators expect to be on scene for most of the day. No further information will be released at this time.
