HMPD Detectives arrest man for Break-in. 
On Thursday, August 6, 2015 at approximately 4:50pm, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the 3600 block of Metric Drive in reference to a break-in that had been discovered upon the victim’s return home from work. During the course of their investigation into the incident, Hope Mills Police Detectives developed information indicating that Christopher Darrin Darby, 27, of the 5400 block of Falling Waters Drive, Hope Mills, was responsible for breaking into the victim’s residence.
On Monday, August 24, 2015, Hope Mills Police Detectives arrested Darby and transported him to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $5000.00 bond for the following charges:
1 count of Felony Breaking and Entering
1 count of Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering
1 count of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
Detectives were also able to recover a significant amount of the victim's property and, more arrests in connection with this crime are likely.
