August 18th

Warrant arrest – Cutting Blvd. / Key Blvd.
At 1056 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 55-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Embezzlement – 11500 block of San Pablo Ave.
Officers arrested a 26-year-old Richmond man after it was determined he was taking customer trade in phones and selling them for cash.
Warrant Arrest / Delaying a Police Officer – 6009 Potrero Avenue
At 2008 hours, an Officer contacted a 32-year-old Richmond man regarding a traffic violation in the parking lot of the motel. The subject walked away from his vehicle and refused to provide his name or any identification. He was arrested and found to have a misdemeanor warrant for driving on a suspended license. He was also driving on a suspended license after a previous DUI conviction. He was booked and released on a citation.

August 19th

Theft of license plate – 1100 block of Ivy Ct.
Between 0930 hours and 1600 hours, an unknown suspect stole the rear license plate of the victim’s vehicle.

Shoplifting, Warrant arrest – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
Officers accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 61-year-old Richmond man after he was caught stealing merchandise from the business. Officers also learned that he had a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Depositing a Nauseous Substance in Public / Disorderly Conduct - 11299 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1714 hours, an officer observed a 43-year-old El Grove woman urinating on the sidewalk in front of the dentist office. Both she and her associate, a 43 year old El Dorado Hills woman was found to be heavily intoxicated. Both were booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez.

Auto Burglary - 11545 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2005 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unknown identified suspect shattered a window to a vehicle and property. The burglary occurred in between 1815 hours and 2000 hours.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Avenue (Safeway)
At 2035 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody. A 33 year old Richmond man was placed under citizen’s arrest by loss prevention after stealing three bottles of Rogaine. He was booked and released on a citation.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Avenue (Safeway)
At 2311 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody. A 62 year old Richmond man was placed under citizen’s arrest for stealing Nyquil, sandwiches and other merchandise by store loss prevention. He was booked and released on a citation.
August 20th

Grand Theft – 4010 EC – Plaza (AT& T Store)
At 1230 hours, three unknown suspects entered the store and stole 4 Samsung phones. They fled in a dark colored Hyundai Sonata.

Residential Burglary – 6000 block of Jordan Avenue
Between 8/16/15 and 8/20/15, an unknown suspect forced open and rear door to the victim’s residence. Unknown loss at the time.

Attempted vehicle theft – 7600 block of Stockton Ave.
Between 8/19/15 at 2100 hours and 8/20/15 at 1430 hours, an unknown suspect attempted to steal the victim’s 2002 Toyota 4 Runner.

Auto burglary – 5200 block of Cypress Ave.
Between 8/19/15 at 2130 hours and 8/20/15 at 1430 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the right front window of the victim’s vehicle and stole the registration

August 21st

Warrant arrest – Carlson Blvd. / El Dorado St.
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 30-year-old Vallejo man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Felony DUI – 11800 block San Pablo Avenue
At 2345 hours, an officer observed a vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes of San Pablo Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 46 year old white male from Suisun City, was arrested for DUI. Additionally, the driver had 3 prior convictions for DUI within 10 years, was on DUI probation, driving on a suspended driver license for DUI, and operating a vehicle without an interlock device in violation of his DMV restrictions. He was transported to MDF.

August 22nd

Robbery – BART Path / Gladys Ave.
At 0903, the victim was approached by a suspect who demanded the victim’s property. The suspect simulated a firearm in his hooded sweatshirt. The suspect stole the victim’s belongings and fled in a white sedan. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’7”, 140, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt pulled down over his face.

Auto burglary – 7100 block of Manila Ave.
At 0915 hours, two unknown suspects smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a coin purse containing a large amount of cash. The suspects fled in a dark colored pickup truck.

Petty theft, Possession of stolen property – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 0939 hours, an officer was dispatched to Safeway after a suspect stole the victim’s bicycle. After reviewing video surveillance of the incident, the officer recognized the man as a 30=-year-old transient man. Later that afternoon, the man returned to Safeway with the bicycle where he was recognized by store security. Officers responded and placed the man under arrest for possession of the stolen bicycle. The victim responded and placed the man under citizen’s arrest for theft of his bicycle. During booking at the El Cerrito Police Department, officers located methamphetamine in the man’s belongings. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle theft – 8600 block of Don Carol Ave.
Between 0800 hours and 0915 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s tan 1995 Honda Accord.

Commercial Burglary – A New Concept Laundromat, 11940 San Pablo Avenue
At 2352 hours, Officers responded to the Laundromat regarding a commercial burglary. The unknown suspect broke a front window and entered the business. The suspect stole cash from the business and fled.

Warrant – 10900 San Pablo Ave
At 0005 hours, a 41 year old male El Cerrito resident came to the ECPD to turn himself in on a warrant. He was transported to MDF.

DUI – Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave
At 0149 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 22 year old female from Richmond for DUI. She was release on a citation.

August 23rd

Driving under the influence – 7007 Moeser Ln.
Officers were dispatched to the community center after a Zumba participant walked to her vehicle and others suspected she was intoxicated. Officers arrived and found a 44-year-old El Cerrito woman in her vehicle, attempting to leave. Officers performed field sobriety tests and determined the woman was intoxicated. The woman was arrested, booked and released to her husband.

Domestic battery – 3100 block of Yosemite Ave.
Officers were dispatched to a residence after the victim stated her partner struck her during an argument. Officers arrested a 31-year-old El Cerrito woman after she punched her partner, leaving bruises. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant – 6400 Cutting Blvd
At 0100 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 51 year old driver from Oakland on a warrant. She was release on a citation.
