North Aurora, IL –  North Aurora police are investigating a report of an aggravated battery to a senior citizen which occurred yesterday morning on the Village’s near west side and are seeking witnesses to the incident.

The incident happened between 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on top of a hill near State St. and Roberts St.  The victim, a 74 year old woman, was walking in the area when she was knocked to the ground by an unknown male offender.  She screamed and the offender fled the area northbound. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect was described as a dark skinned male (possibly Hispanic), about 18-20 years old, heavy set with a round face, short black hair, and wearing a red t-shirt with unknown writing, and dark colored shorts.

Investigators would be interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen the victim or suspect prior to the battery or who may have seen the suspect fleeing the scene.  No piece of information is too small.
