Chula Vista Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Brazen Daytime Jewelry Thief

Suspect: Unknown Hispanic Male
Age Range: 20-27 Yrs Old
Height/Weight: 5’10” / 185 lbs
Clothing: Black tank top with “Coachella Dr., La Quinta 48”, black pants, gray Nike shoes, black derby style hat
Vehicle: A dark green Ford F150 Super Cab truck with a mounted tool box.

On 08/18/2015 at 3:30 p.m. the suspect entered Kings Jewelry at 271 Third Avenue, Chula Vista. While employees were distracted and assisting several other customers, the suspect grabbed a display case containing a variety of rings and watches and fled the business. The case was a rotating glass box that was sitting atop other display cases. He ran out the door past customers with employees in chase. He threw the display case into the bed of a waiting (engine running) pick-up truck, jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off. An unknown female was seated in the front passenger seat. Employees ran out to the truck and watched as it sped off northbound on Third Avenue. The losses were well in excess of $20,000 in watches, rings, and bracelets.
