August 10th

Auto Burglary-9895 San Pablo Ave (Peet’s Coffee)
An officer reports an unknown suspect smashed out the front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a back pack. The officer located a witnessed to the theft and obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Officers are working on leads to identify the suspect.

Stolen Vehicle-10583 San Pablo Ave. (Hi Tech Car Audio)
An officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s white 2006 Ford F350 Dually between August 8th and August 9th.

In-custody Shoplifter-11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway)
At 1616 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the citizen’s arrest from loss prevention agents. The 35 year old male resident of San Pablo was detained by loss prevention agents after he exited the store with $329 worth of merchandise. The male was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department where he was booked and released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle- 5900 Block of San Diego St.
At 1245 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1995 black 2-door 1995 Acura Integra between 8/9 at 2130 hours and 8/10 at 1100 hours.

Shoplifter in Custody Safeway - 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 1855 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody. Loss Prevention Agents detained an 18 year old San Pablo male for stealing merchandise. He was booked and issued a citation.

Theft - 11511 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1930 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft that just occurred. An unidentified suspect described as a white male adult, in his 40’s, wearing a black 49er jacket, blue jeans, 5’10” 175 lbs, with a goatee stole a Bluetooth earpiece from the store. The suspect fled on a blue older motorcycle. The suspect is a regular thief at the store.

Loaded Firearm possession, Conspiracy, Resisting Arrest: BART Path / Fairmount Avenue:
Officers were providing saturation patrol to safeguard commuters around the BART station in response to the robbery and shooting that occurred last week. At 2023 hours, an officer observed a group that matched the description. Two of the three fled on foot. One of the subjects, a 16 year old Richmond male fled and ran through several stores at the EC Plaza. He was ultimately detained after he ran into Ross. The store was briefly evacuated. Officers retraced the steps the suspect took and located a loaded semi-automatic handgun on the BART Trail that was the same caliber used in the shooting. A second member of the group, a 15 year old male juvenile from Richmond, fled and was caught by officers at Liberty Street / Central Avenue. He was found in possession of several rounds of ammunition. The third suspect, a sixteen year old was detained by officers. The juveniles were booked and transported to the Juvenile Detention Facility in Martinez.

15-16902 Domestic Battery 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 0021 hours, officers responded to the report of a battery. A 27 year old El Cerrito woman was determined to have battered her co-habitant. She scratched his face and arms with her house key and chased him with wrench. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

August 11th

In-custody Shoplifter-11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway)
At 1626 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the citizen’s arrest from loss prevention agents. The 47 year old male resident of El Cerrito was detained by loss prevention agents after he exited the store with $70 worth of merchandise. The male was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department where he was booked and released on a citation.

Shoplifter- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2130 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody at Safeway. A 23 year old Richmond woman was arrested by loss prevention officers for exiting the store with $95 in merchandise. She was booked and released on a citation.

Vandalism- Valero, 11687 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2328 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to the Valero gas station for a window break alarm call. Officers did not locate any subjects, but did find the front glass door shattered. A galvanized nut was located near the front door and believed it was the tool used to shatter the window.

Warrant Arrest – Santa Clara County Jail
At 2346 hours, an officer drove to the Santa Clara County Jail to take custody of a woman who was wanted on a possession of stolen property warrant. She was transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

August 12th

Grand Theft-670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS)
At 0903 hours, an officer reports that unknown suspects entered the business and stole $3700 worth of cosmetic products on 8/9/15. Store employees discovered the theft after reviewing video surveillance.

Warrant Arrest/Providing False Identity to Police-10560 San Pablo Ave (CVS)
Officers responded to CVS in regards to a theft in progress. Upon arrival officers located the suspects walking away from the business. During the contact, the male juvenile, a resident of Oakland and the 22 year old male of Oakland provided officers with false names. The officers were able to determine their true identity and discovered the juvenile had an outstanding warrant. Both suspects were transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the adult male was released on a citation and the juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall for the outstanding warrant.

Missing Person-11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway)
At 1615 hours, officers responded to Safeway in regards to an elderly missing female. The female and her son were shopping at Safeway when the female wander off. While officers were circulating the area for the female an alert citizen reported seeing an elderly female walking around the area of Alva Ave and Lagunitas Ave. Officers responded to the area and located the missing female. The missing female’s son also responded to the location and was reunited with his mother.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery: 10650 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0242 hours, an officer located a previously reported stolen Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was returned to the owner at the scene.

Fugitive from Justice - 9950 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1915 hours, officers responded to the report of a subject in the bushes behind the bank. The subject, a 33 year old transient male was found to have a warrant from the State of Oregon. He was arrested and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez pending an extradition hearing.

Driving under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage - Moeser Ln. /Pomona Ave:
At 0211 hours, an officer contacted the operator of a motor scooter. The driver, a 24 year old El Cerrito woman was found to be driving without a license and was heavily intoxicated. She was also in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamines. She was booked and released on a citation to a sober associate.

Robbery/Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0457 hours, officers responded to the report of a man who was badly beaten. An investigation revealed that he was beaten with a metal chain and padlock by a 56 year old Richmond man. The victim was beaten with the chain until he fell to the ground and was then kicked by the suspect. The suspect then removed cash from his pockets and fled the area. The victim was provided with emergency medical treatment and transported to the Hospital. At 2210 hours, an officer spotted the suspect who was taken into custody. The weapon used was recovered. The suspect was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

August 13th

Possession of a Controlled Substance-1751 Eastshore Blvd
At 0937 hours, an officer was patrolling in the area and noticed a suspicious male. The officer contacted the male, a 32 year old resident of Richmond. During the investigation, the male was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The officer placed the male under arrest and transported him to the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking the male was released on a citation.

Driving Under the Influence-BART path/Blake St
At 0949 hours, an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the area. During the investigation, the owner of the vehicle walked up to his vehicle. While the officer was speaking to the owner of the vehicle he noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the owner. The officer advised the owner to not drive his vehicle. The owner did not listen to the officer’s advice and attempted to drive away. The officer detained the driver and placed him under arrest for driving while under the influence. The driver, a 52 year old male from Richmond was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking he was released to a family member.

Residential Burglary-1800 block of Arlington Blvd.
At 1417 hours, an officer reports unknown suspect(s) pried opened the breezeway door of the victim’s residence to gain entry and removed property. The theft occurred between 1100 hours to 1400 hours.

Domestic Battery - 11101 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2156 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of a man punching a woman with a child in a baby stroller. The victim refused to provide any information or cooperate in any way. The suspect a 48 year old man was located on S. 58th St./ Bayview Avenue. He was positively identified as the responsible by a witness. He was arrested and booked into the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

August 14th

Vehicle theft – 3000 block of Yolo Ave.
Between 8/13/15 at 2330 hours and 8/14/15 at 0730 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2007 Toyota Tundra.

Warrant arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 0841 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 36-year-old Oakland woman and her friend, a 44-year-old Oakland man for outstanding warrants. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Warrant arrest – 1700 block of Elm St.

Officers were dispatched for a subject entering the rear shed of an abandoned property. Officers located a 30-year-old transient man inside a rear shed on the property and found to have an outstanding warrant. The man was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department then released.

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
At 1212 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 21-year-old Concord woman for two outstanding warrants. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Tenant / Landlord – 200 block of Seaview Drive
At 2017 hours, Officers responded to a disturbance and ultimately accepted the citizen arrest of a 55 year old male Albany resident after he entered his tenant’s room two days after initiating the eviction process and removed the tenant’s property and locked it in a studio apartment on the property. The suspect was cited and released.

DUI, Warrant arrest – 1700 Block of Eastshore Blvd
At 2358 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 34 year old female driver and Oakland resident for DUI. The suspect was driving on a suspended license, on DUI probation, and had an outstanding DUI warrant issued by Alameda County. She was cited on the new charges and transported to MDF on the warrant.

August 15th

Vandalism – 200 block of Seaview Dr.
The tenant at a residence retaliated after being served with eviction papers by breaking several windows in the home and flooding a studio apartment in the rear yard.

Indecent exposure – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1314 hours, officers were dispatched to the store for a male exposing his genitals to a customer. Officers arrived, detained a 67-year-old Richmond man, and learned that he is a registered sex offender. The man was placed under citizen’s arrest and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before being transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest – Richmond St. / Schmidt Ln.
At 1700 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 32-year-old transient man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Weapons Violations, Out of State Warrant – Gordon Ave / S. 52nd Street
At 2202 hours, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle and contacted the occupants. The driver, a 28 year old female and Richmond resident, was wanted on warrant issued by Ada County, Idaho for trafficking cocaine, methamphetamines, and possession of a firearm. The passenger, a 42 year old Oakland man, was a convicted felon and on probation for stolen vehicles. He was in possession of burglary tools and a loaded high capacity firearm magazine. Both were transported to MDF.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave
At 0223 hours, An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested 37 year old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamines and a glass pipe. He was released on an citation.

August 16th

Auto burglary – 10794 San Pablo Ave.
Between 1000 hours and 1438 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s right rear passenger window and stole a backpack containing a laptop computer.

Stolen Vehicle – 800 block of Seaview Drive
Sometime between 8/16/15 at 2100 and 5/17/15 at 0500, the victim’s green 2000 Honda Accords was stolen.

August 17th

Auto burglary – 6060 Central Ave.
Between 0540 hours and 0620 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s front passenger window and stole a backpack containing books.

Commercial burglary – 6700 block of Hagen Blvd.
Between 8/15/15 at 2300 to 8/16/15 at 1130 hours, an unknown suspect entered the locked construction site and cut several locks to a storage container. Once inside, the suspects stole several power tools belonging to the construction company.

Strongarm robbery – San Pablo Ave. / Potrero Ave.
On 7/31/15 at 2030 hours, a victim was confronted by 3 suspects and forced up against the bus stop. The suspect’s placed an object against the victim’s back and told him it was a gun. The suspect’s proceeded to take the victim’s property.
Vandalism – Manila Ave. / Kearney St.
An unknown suspect littered nails into the roadway, causing a puncture to a vehicle tire.
