National Weather Service Excessive Heat Advisory Issued for Tustin and much of Southern California.

For those citizens who need to seek relief from the heat, the City of Tustin will activate a cooling center at the:

Tustin Area Senior Center,
200 South C Street,
Tustin, CA 92780

The cooling center is open from 12:00pm – 4:00pm Friday Through Sunday.

Access will be from the South Lobby and all age groups will be accommodated.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

Air Conditioning and ice water will be provided.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM FRIDAY TO 9 PM PDT MONDAY.

* TEMPERATURE...HOTTEST WEATHER SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES 94 TO 106 DEGREES...NOT AS HOT IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN ABOVE 6000 FEET.

* IMPACTS...RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESS. THOSE AT HIGHEST RISK INCLUDE CHILDREN...THE ELDERLY...AND PETS WITHOUT ADEQUATE SHELTER.

* OUTLOOK...SLIGHTLY LESS HOT ON MONDAY. COOLER BY TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING.
KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
