ROUTINE WEEKLY "NIXLE" TEST FROM EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
This test message is delivered via the NIXLE text messaging system from the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management.
Periodic NIXLE tests, usually sent on each Wednesday near 1pm, give the subscribed recipients confidence the system is working properly, and provides for Emergency Management staff training.
NIXLE messaging system is an important part of our community alert and warning network. Tests are important to assure the system is functioning correctly. The NIXLE messaging system helps us keep you informed about local incidents that may impact you.
By request we now include traffic advice if any of our major roads are closed for an extended period of time. Although we don't catch all of them, we will send a NIXLE text messate (and email) if there will be a long closure, such as for a major accident investigation.
If you have any comments or questions regarding the NIXLE system, please call me at 360-385.9368.
Regards,
Bob Hamlin, Emergency Management Director
