Suspect Arrested in Homicide

Jesus Gonzalez Gutierrez, a 24 -year-old Corona resident has been arrested for murder and assault with a deadly weapon related to the stabbing investigation at Racks Billiards (Sports Bar). Gutierrez was booked into the Riverside County Jail with bail set at $1 million.

Detectives say Gutierrez was inside the bar prior to the stabbing. Gutierrez left the bar and later returned, stabbing two people. A witness chased Gutierrez away from the scene but lost sight of him in the 100 block of N. Promenade. With the assistance from Riverside Police helicopter-Air1 and a Corona Police K-9, Gutierrez was located hiding in dense brush and taken into custody without incident near Promenade and Melissa Ct. Gutierrez was taken to Corona Police Department where detectives interviewed him. Detectives processed the crime scene locating a knife they believe may have been used in the commission of the crime. The deceased was later identified as John Fuller III, 67, of San Fernando Valley.
