The Montrose Search and Rescue Team responded to Mile Marker 44.82, Angeles Crest Highway, Angeles National Forest, regarding a vehicle which had gone over the side of the roadway. The Search team located a white Toyota sedan containing two occupants approximately 20 feet off the roadway.
Search team members rescued the 23 year-old male occupant from the vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and was able to walk back to the highway. The 22 year-old female occupant sustained moderate injuries and had to be hoisted from the crash site by search team members.
Both occupants were airlifted to a local hospital by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Helicopter “Rescue Air 5”.
