(Harris County, TX) Harris County Sheriff’s Office Robbery investigators have arrested and charged two suspects in an aggravated robbery at the Family Dollar located at 8036 Fairbanks N Houston in north Harris County.

Investigators say Kelston Edwards (DOB 04/13/95), entered the Family Dollar at 9:30 am, yesterday, August 4, 2015, pointed a handgun at the store manager and demanded the money from the register.

Edwards fled from the store to an awaiting vehicle that was driven by Taquera Tidwell (DOB 08/08/94).

While running from the store, Edwards was observed by a witness throwing the handgun and latex gloves he was wearing into landscaping bushes.

The witness phoned 911 and reported a description of the car and the female driver.

HCSO North District deputies heard the broadcast of the robbery suspect’s vehicle, and spotted the car near West Road and Fairbanks N Houston. Deputies conducted a felony stop on the vehicle. Tidwell exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies found Edwards lying on the backseat floor board. He was ordered from the vehicle and place into custody.

The cash bag was found in the vehicle.

Edwards was taken back to the Family Dollar where he was identified by the complainant as the suspected robber.

Deputies also recovered a replica handgun and gloves used in the robbery.

Thanks to the observant witness who contacted authorities and to the fast actions taken by deputies, both suspects are now awaiting arraignment in the Harris County Jail Facility.
