Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult that occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2015, in the 12200 block of 224^th Street, Hawaiian Gardens.

Detectives have learned that at 9:20 a.m., Lakewood Station deputies responded to the location regarding an “assault with a deadly weapon” call.  Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, a male, Hispanic adult, sitting in the driver’s seat of a green compact car, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. 

The victim, who was in front of the location, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
