Four People Arrested Drugs Are Found During Traffic Stop

Madison – A Madison man and his three passengers were arrested and drugs were seized during a traffic stop Wednesday evening in Madison.

Acting on a tip of a wanted man from Madison Police, Indiana State Police Trooper Robert Hutson stopped a brown 2006 Kia Sportage after observing the wanted subject inside the vehicle on Clifty Drive in Madison. Trooper Hutson observed multiple criminal indicators as he identified the occupants of the vehicle. Trooper Hutson requested a canine. Deputy Josh Cochran and his canine partner, “Glock” arrived on the scene and conducted an exterior walk around the vehicle. After positive indication of a presence of drugs was confirmed, Trooper Hutson conducted a search of the vehicle. Trooper Hutson located methamphetamine, paraphernalia, scales and additional items associated with dealing drugs inside the vehicle.

Trooper Hutson arrested Caleb Wilking 22, of Madison on the Jefferson County warrant charging Escape, a Level 6 Felony along with one count each of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Trafficking with an Inmate, a Level 6 Felony and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, a Level 6 Felony. Wilking was charged with trafficking after a small container with around 1 gram of meth was discovered concealed inside his undergarment while inside the jail.

Marketta Abbott 21, of Lexington, Indiana was arrested and charged with one count each of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor and Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class B Misdemeanor. Additional methamphetamine was found on Abbott’s person while she was being booked into the jail.

Jeremy Mikesell 28, (the driver) of Madison was arrested and charged with one count each of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor and Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Robert Renecker 33, (passenger) of Deputy was arrested and charged with one count each of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor and Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class B Misdemeanor.

All four subjects were transported to the Jefferson County jail where they were incarcerated.

Trooper Hutson was assisted by Trooper Andrew Garrett and Jefferson County Deputy Josh Cochran and his canine partner “Glock”.
