On Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. the DGS - Maryland Capitol Police Department held the 2014 - Promotion, and Awards Ceremony at the Baltimore Complex - Auditorium. The ceremony publicly recognized the achievements, deeds of self sacrifice and accomplishments that all too often go without the proper recognition. At the ceremony the following were recognized for their promotions and service contributions during 2014:

- Special Events Ribbon (Star Spangled Spectacular 200th):
The Special Events Ribbon is authorized for any uniformed member of the department, sworn or civilian, who participated in an event that the Chief of Police determines to be a significant or historical event. This ribbon is authorized for any member of the department who has officially participated in the detail commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore and the Star-Spangled Banner – September 11th – 15th, 2014.
