Here’s a look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week

On Friday the 27^th, at 9:30 p.m., an armed robbery occurred in the 23600 block of Newhall Avenue.  The Victim said the Suspect approached him in the dark behind a building and demanded the cash from his wallet.

On Monday the 20^th, at 7:35 a.m., a shed in the 22600 block of 8^th Street was burglarized.  The Suspect removed a lock and took a tool.  Detectives are reviewing Witness statements and video evidence.   

On Sunday the 26^th, at 10:00 p.m., a Honda van was stolen from the 24700 block of Airville Avenue.  The vehicle was seen nearby 30 minutes later.  After a search, deputies found the vehicle abandoned.  

On Tuesday the 21^st, between Midnight and 11:50 a.m., a wallet was stolen from an unlock vehicle in the 25000 block of Vermont Drive.  The Victim was alerted of the theft when his bank contacted him regarding a suspicious transaction on his bank card that had been in his wallet.

There were two arrests in the Newhall are last week, both for domestic violence related charges.  I’d also like to note station detectives identified and arrested a suspect who burglarized a business in the 22600 block of Lyons Avenue on June 27^th. 

Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave packages or valuables in plain view, and be aware of your surroundings.  Be a good neighbor and report suspicious behavior.
