Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male juvenile that occurred on Monday, July 27, 2015 in the 8700 block of Valley Boulevard, Rosemead.

The victim was shot in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim has been identified as 17-year-old George Hang, a resident of Rosemead. 

Detectives have arrested the victim’s mother, 49-year-old Lai Hang, also a resident of Rosemead.  Suspect Hang was arrested for murder, booked at Temple Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of one million dollars bail.

The motive for the murder is still under investigation.  A handgun was recovered at the scene.

The investigation is on-going.
