Narrative:
A Motorcycle ridden by Refugio Gomez was southbound on Santa Rosa Road approaching the Upland Road intersection. A Toyota Camry driven by Jonathan Ong was northbound on Santa Rosa Road and stopped in the Upland Road intersection waiting to make a left turn onto Upland Road. Southbound traffic on Santa Rosa Road slowed for the signal light. As the Toyota started making a left turn, the motorcycle entered the intersection and collided with the Toyota. Gomez was ejected off of his motorcycle, sustaining major injuries, and was transported to Los Robles Medical Center where he died on Friday, 7/17/15. Ong and his passenger did not receive any injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time.
The Camarillo Police Department is asking that anyone who may have seen this collision or assisted the victims afterwards to please call Senior Deputy John Popp at (805) 388-5146.
