The Chula Vista Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit is investigating a homicide in the 300 block of Quintard Street, Chula Vista. The victim, an Hispanic female in her early to mid 20’s was shot several times and killed as she and a male companion were walking down the street. The companion was not injured. Police are questioning him.
The first 911 calls came into Chula Vista Police at 12:01 a.m on Friday, July 10th. Witnesses initially called saying they had heard 3 to 4 gunshots. Other witnesses called in saying that a person had been shot. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed. The suspect is still outstanding and the only description at this time is an adult male.
The entire 300 block of Quintard between 3rd Avenue and Orange Avenue is closed to all traffic.
