The Norton Shores Police Dept. are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at US31 S/B south of Airline road. 
Norton Shores Police officers were called to a fatal crash at 12:55 AM on Seaway Drive E/B near US31. Officers were able to determine that the vehicle had been traveling S/B on US31 near Airline at a high rate of speed. The vehicle loss control and vaulted onto Seaway drive coming to a rest on E/B Seaway. The driver a Fruitport Township resident 26 yrs old was driving a 1999 Mitsubishi, white in color was pronounced dead from being ejected from the vehicle. It appears the driver was not belted. Witnesses confirmed that the vehicle was driving at least 100 MPH prior to the crash. The name of the driver is being withheld until family members have all been contacted.
