Residential Burglary Arrest
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY ARREST
At 1628 hours Officers responded to a residential burglary alarm activation in the 1600 Block of Julian Drive and found a broken door on a north side of the residence from a burglary. At 1711 hours, dispatch broadcasted a description of a suspicious male in the 1300 block of Contra Costa Drive in a resident’s backyard and then looking into other yards. He was described as a B/M/A with blonde hair, thin build, wearing a blue shirt and dark pants. An officer located the male in the 1400 block of Navellier Street. A consent search of the male’s bags revealed laptops and credit cards belonging to the victim of the burglary on Julian Drive. The victim identified the property as stolen and officers took the male (who was giving a false name at this point) into custody. At 1818 hours, dispatch broadcasted a report of another burglary discovered to a residence in the 1300 block of Contra Costa Drive which is likely related to our suspect. The subsequent follow-up investigation determined the male was also in possession of property from the residence on Contra Costa Drive. He was arrested booked at the El Cerrito Police Department where his true identity was determined. After booking he was transported to the county jail in Martinez.
