On 06 July 2015 at approximately 1157 hours a Wilmington Police K-9 Officer was in the area of 7th and N. Madison Streets on proactive patrol when he called in possible shots fired. Within a minute of the report the K-9 officer located a 37 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdominal area at 6th and N. Madison Street. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics  transported to the Christiana Hospital  Emergency Room. The investigation is ongoing and in the preliminary stages. No suspect information is available at this time and anyone with information in reference to this investigation is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 302-576-3620.
