The 4th of July is here! Remember, the City of Monterey Park only allows "Safe and Sane" fireworks to be discharged on the 4th of July from 10 am till 10 pm. Discharging of "Safe and Sane" fireworks before or after this period is prohibited. If the fireworks you have do not bear the State Fire Marshal seal, then they are illegal. A good rule of thumb is if it leaves the ground or explodes, its probably not "Safe and Sane". If you are caught in possession of illegal fireworks, you could be fined up to $1000 or arrested.
