Advisory

Schofield Barracks' Fourth of July Spectacular entry requirements, prohibited items and egress routes

Entrance:
July 4 events are open to Department of Defense ID cardholders and their guests. This includes service members, military families, military retirees, DoD civilians, and their authorized guests.

ID card checks will be conducted at the installation gates. Drivers and all passengers 16 years of age and older are required to show a valid state or federal ID at the gates. Drivers also must possess a valid license, vehicle safety inspection, registration and proof of no-fault insurance.

Prohibited Items:
To ensure a safe and happy holiday weekend for all, the following items are prohibited on the field:
•Glass bottles;
•Distilled spirits/liquor (whiskey, rum, vodka, tequila, etc.);
•Pets;
•Fireworks, including firecrackers and sparklers;
•Charcoal/open-flame grills, unless in a designated picnic area that is already reserved through MWR.

All vehicles, personnel and belongings (coolers/backpacks/bags) are subject to inspection while on Schofield Barracks.

Parking:
On-post residents are advised to walk to the events due to traffic congestion. Many parking lots immediately surrounding the field are closed.

Exiting Traffic:
Plan ahead as regular roads and turns may be blocked off, as Schofield gates will have different traffic patterns after the Fourth of July Spectacular concludes:

•Foote Gate
Left turn only to Honolulu

•Lyman Gate
Left lane to Wheeler Army Airfield and Honolulu
Right lane to Kapolei

•Macomb Gate
Right turn only to Honolulu

•McNair Gate
Left lane to North Shore
Right lane to Honolulu

Roads marked in red will be closed to traffic. Red roads in housing areas are open to local traffic only.

Plan on allowing 1-2 hours to leave Schofield after the event concludes due to additional traffic and congestion, and stay alert for pedestrians.
