Harris County Sheriff's Office and Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force Arrest Wanted Escapee.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - On Wednesday, July 1, 2015, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force (GCVOFTF) and U.S. Marshals Service took a convicted felon escapee from Travis County into custody.

GCVOFTF received information that 24 year old Dacious Parker (DOB 05/08/91), was hiding out in an apartment building in the 14000 block of Ella Blvd. in north Harris County. Parker had escaped from a Travis County Jail Facility in February after being sentenced to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 20 years.

Task Force members converged on the Timbers of Cranberry apartments around 5:00pm. After identifying the second story residence, deputies and task force members made entry to take him into custody.

Parker fled, jumping from the second story window. Parker then fled from deputies’ across a parking lot.

Deputy J. Pulido of the HCSO District 1 patrol and Deputy E. Barnot (GCVOFTF) gave chase. Parker was climbing a fence and ordered to stop when Deputy Pulido discharged his taser striking Parker. The taser discharge was ineffective.

Parker refused commands from deputies and would not show his hands that were tucked under his body. Deputy Barnot deployed his taser at Parker. This discharge was effective and he was then taken into custody without further incident.

Parker has a long and violent criminal history for charges that includes aggravated assault with deadly weapon, aggravated robbery, and numerous assaults on peace officers.

Parker was transported to a local hospital for an ankle injury suffered when jumping from the second floor window. He was later released and is currently in the Harris County Jail Facility.

He will await extradition to Travis County, and the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to begin his sentence.
