OSBI Agents Arrest Alfalfa County Commissioner

OSBI agents arrested the Alfalfa County district one county commissioner and his wife Wednesday night at the couple’s Cherokee home. Earlier in the day, OSBI agents, District 26 District Attorney’s Office investigators, agents with the Bureau of Narcotics, and Alfalfa County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at Doug and Brandelynn Murrow’s home -- 404 South Kansas, Cherokee, Oklahoma. Doug Murrow (d.o.b. 11/8/1967), the county commissioner, was arrested for giving a firearm to a convicted felon and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1000 feet of a school. Brandelynn Murrow (d.o.b. 6/28/1978) was arrested for possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1000 feet of a school. Both were booked into the Alfalfa County jail. A judge released Doug Murrow on his own recognizance and set Brandelynn’s bond at $5,000. In mid June, the Alfalfa County district attorney requested OSBI investigate potential criminal activity by the county commissioner.
