Circle XX Shooting
On 06/28/15, at about 1150 hours, Deputies responded to a report of a male subject trying to force his way into a home on the 6000 block of Chaparojos Street, Angels Camp, threatening to kill 29 year old Derek Rutherford. The occupant armed himself with a hand gun in fear for his safety. The male subject continued to threaten Rutherford and to force entry, when a third party arrived. The male suspect then turned his focus on her and told Rutherford that he would kill the female. Derek Rutherford exited the residence, shooting the male suspect multiple times. The suspect succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Derek Rutherford was questioned about the incident and released. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
