June 26th

Possession of an embezzled rental car, False personation, Warrant arrest, Possession of a controlled substance, Forgery – Knott Ave. / Key Blvd.
At 1009 hours, an officer located a GMC pickup that had been reported stolen to the Contra Costa County Sheriff. The officer detained two females walking away from the vehicle. A 32-year-old Vallejo woman and a 45-year-old Albany woman were arrested. The Vallejo woman provided officers with the name of an acquaintance to avoid prosecution for two outstanding warrants. During booking, officers located a large amount of stolen mail to include checks and credit cards. The officers also located methamphetamine in her belongings. The Albany woman was released from the police department. The Vallejo woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Trespassing – 1700 block of Elm St.
At 1152 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for a suspect that was seen walking to the rear yard of an abandoned house with a bicycle. Officers approached the house and saw the rear door had been forced open. Officers located a 30-year-old homeless man inside the residence amongst drug paraphernalia and evidence of alcohol theft from local businesses. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Knott Ave.
At 1352 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 25-year-old transient woman for an outstanding warrant. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Methamphetamine Possession - San Pablo Avenue / Knott Avenue:
At 2248 hours, an officer contacted a 63 years old year old Richmond man during a traffic stop. A probation compliance search revealed that the man was not in compliance. He had approximately a ¼ gram of suspected methamphetamines in his pocket. The man was arrested, booked and issued a citation.


June 27th

Probation Violation - 11344 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0334 hours, officers responded to the report of loiters in the lobby at Denny’s. One of the subjects, a 34 year old Richmond man was on probation with a court ordered clause that he not go to Denny’s. He was arrested for the probation violation. He was also determined to be the responsible subject in a robbery where he threatened to shoot a security guard at Safeway last week. The subject was identified via video surveillance. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Robbery – Walgreen’s, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 0913 hours, officers were dispatched to Walgreen’s after a chronic thief stole from the business and pushed the employee on her way out of the door. Officers arrested a 58-year-old Richmond woman for robbery. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Mental health evaluation – El Cerrito Police Department, 10900 San Pablo Ave.
At 0915 hours, an officer committed a 46-year-old transient man for a psychiatric evaluation after he rambled incoherently about being followed while running into traffic. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center by AMR.



Public intoxication – 10016 San Pablo Ave.
At 1301 hours, an officer arrested a 48-year-old transient man after he was found to be heavily intoxicated and harassing customers. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility

Residential Burglary – 800 block of Bates Avenue:
At 1914 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. The burglary occurred in between and 1200 to 1730 hours. An unidentified suspect pried open an unsecured window and removed jewelry.

Warrant Arrest - 670 EC Plaza:
At 2347 hours, an officer contacted a 55 year old Richmond woman. She was wanted on an ECPD misdemeanor warrant. She was booked and cite released.


June 28th

Warrant Arrest - Central Avenue/San Mateo Avenue:
At 0047 hours, an officer contacted a 38 year old Richmond woman during a traffic stop. She was wanted on a No Bail stolen vehicle warrant. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest - Hill St / Liberty Street:
At 0520 hours, an officer contacted a 28 year old Richmond man during a pedestrian stop. He was wanted on a residential burglary/stolen vehicle warrant in Contra Costa County and a stolen vehicle warrant from Alameda County. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Warrant arrest – BART path / Manila Ave.
At 1200 hours, an officer attempted to stop two subjects on the BART Path near Manila Ave. One of them, a 32-year-old Hercules man ignored the order and continued walking. Responding officers located him and found that he had two outstanding warrants issued for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Domestic battery – 1900 block of Key Blvd.
At 1430 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence after a 28-year-old El Cerrito man struck his wife in the head and body with his hands. Following the investigation, the man was arrested. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Brandishing a Weapon / Disorderly Conduct - Fairmount Ave./ Richmond St:
At 2326 hours, officers responded to the report of a subject brandishing a knife. Two tow truck drivers were on assisting customers with a broken down vehicle. They noticed a 23 year old Albany man, chasing an unidentified subject northbound on the Ohlone Greenway. He chased the male around a parked car holding a knife. He then turned towards the tow truck driver’s and brandished the knife in their face. He then ran off and returned shortly thereafter but one of the drivers pulled out his TASER and dissuaded the man who then fled down the greenway. The unidentified man who was being chased fled the area. The subject brandishing the knife was apprehended by arriving officers. He was placed under citizen’s arrest. He was also found to be intoxicated. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.
