The Ontario Police Department reminds the community that all fireworks are illegal to use within the city limits of Ontario.
The Ontario Police Department is reminding its residents that all fireworks, to include the “Safe and Sane” variety, are illegal to use within the city limits of Ontario. Fireworks violators are subject to citation or arrest that can result in jail time or a fine up to $1,000.00.
Residents are also reminded that celebratory gunfire can have tragic results and is illegal as well.
As an alternative, community members can celebrate Independence Day by bringing family and friends to one of Ontario’s favorite hometown traditions: the Independence Day Parade, All-States Picnic, Family Festivities, and Fireworks Spectacular.
The Independence Day Parade begins at 9:00 AM on Euclid Ave in downtown Ontario and is followed by the All-States Picnic. The traditions continue at Westwind Park with the Family Festivities beginning at 5:00 PM and the Fireworks Spectacular at 9:00 PM. Westwind Park is located at 2455 East Riverside Drive between Archibald Avenue and Vineyard Avenue.
