OSBI has positively identified Joshua P. Crittenden, 35 years of age, as the man shot Saturday during an officer-involved shooting with the Tahlequah Police Department. Crittenden was identified through fingerprints taken by the Latent Evidence Unit of the OSBI. A handgun was recovered near Crittenden’s body by OSBI agents processing the scene. Also arrested at the scene was Benjamin P. Brown, 26 years of age, for multiple outstanding felony warrants out of Cherokee County. OSBI agents will be conducting further interviews in this on-going investigation. A report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office at the conclusion of the investigation.
