June 19th

Shoplift – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1038 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 50-year-old Oakland man after he entered Safeway and stole merchandise. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Under the influence of a controlled substance – 11800 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1400 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for a transient woman harassing customers. Officers contacted a 29-year-old transient woman that was under the influence of methamphetamine. The woman was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before being transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Stolen Property / Parole Violation – Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1845 hours, officers contacted a 24 year old Vacaville resident during a loitering call for service. This subject was on parole and is a registered sex offender. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention facility in Martinez.

Robbery - 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1921 hours, an officer was flagged down by a security guard regarding a theft. The security guard confronted a black male adult, approximately 20 years old, 5’07” tall with gray and orange windbreaker. The subject was trying to steal food items. The suspect threatened to shoot the security guard and then fled on foot.

Methamphetamine Possession – False Identity to a Police Officer – Burglary tools - Warrant Arrest
Carlson Blvd / El Dorado Avenue:
At 2000 hours, an officer contacted a subject during a bicycle enforcement stop. The subject a 25 year old Richmond man provided a false name to the officer. He was found in possession of hypodermic needles loaded with methamphetamines, shaved automobile keys, bolt cutters, window punch etc. He was also wanted on auto theft and residential burglary arrest warrants from Alameda County. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention facility in Martinez.

Petty Theft - 11319 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2227 hours, officers responded to the theft of a 24 pack of beer and a Warrior’s baseball cap from Chevron. The suspect brazenly strolled in and stole these items. Responding officers located the man trying to pass the items off to a passing citizen. The suspect, a 26 year old Richmond resident was also intoxicated. Officer Taylor responded to the report of a subject who stole a baseball cap and a six pack and fled the store. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention facility in Martinez.


June 20th

Missing person – 6900 block of Gladys Ave.
At 0918 hours, an officer was dispatched to a residence for a missing person report. The reporting party stated they had not heard from their godmother in a week. They regularly speak with her every night. Officers checked the residence and found that the car was missing and several neighbors had not seen her in about a week. She was entered into the Missing/unidentified Persons System in case she was contacted by another police agency. At approximately 1900 hours, she called her goddaughter to explain that she was at a funeral all day.




Warrant Arrest - Potrero Avenue / Eastshore Blvd:
At 2353 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a passenger who was a 20 year old male from Oakland on a $105K warrant from Alameda County Sheriff’s office for battery. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

June 21st

Warrant Arrest - 3400 blk of Belmont Avenue:
At 0012 hours, an officer contacted a 53 years old registered transient sex offender during a suspicious vehicle check. The subject was wanted on a No Bail felony Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Cocaine Possession and Warrant Arrest – 6060 Central Avenue:
At 0022 hours, an officer contacted a 27 years old, Emeryville resident during a traffic stop. The subject had a No Bail burglary warrant from Alameda County. He was also in possession of a small amount of base cocaine. He was booked and cited on the ECPD charges and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on the warrant.

Methamphetamine Possession - San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0249 hours, an officer contacted a 48 year old Richmond male and registered sex offender during a pedestrian stop. He was found to be in possession of approximately ½ gram of methamphetamine. He was booked and released on a citation.

Trespassing and False Identification to Police Officer: 11755 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0352 hours, an officer conducted a security check at El Cerrito Honda after hearing a car alarm. A 25 year old male transient was found camped out inside of a new Honda Accord and was laying on the horn. He had been smoking and discarding his trash inside the new vehicle. He also lied about his name. He was booked and cited.

Vandalism – Mail Theft - 1500 blk of Lexington Avenue:
At 0414 hours, officers responded to the report of a subject looking into mailboxes. A 16 year old El Cerrito male was found looking into a vehicle on Gladys Avenue. He was found in possession of mail from the 1500 block of Lexington Avenue. Two vehicles were located in the 1500 block of Lexington Avenue that had broken windows. The juvenile was booked and released to his parents.

Under the influence of a controlled substance, Warrant arrest – Stockton Ave. / Pomona Ave.
At 0642 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for a black male in his 20’s looking into vehicles. Officers arrived and located a 28-year-old Albany man wandering the neighborhood. The man stated that he was just walking through the neighborhood and denied looking into vehicles. The man is on probation for burglary and was under the influence of heroin. The man also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The man was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before being transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential burglary – 2500 block of Tamalpais Ave.
Between 6/20/15 at 1800 hours and 6/21/15 at 0930 hours, an unknown suspect entered a residence via an unlocked rear door and stole tools.

Unattended Death – 700 block of Midcrest Way
At 1736 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence for the passing of a 72-year-old man of natural causes. As the death was unattended by a physician, the Coroner’s office responded.


June 22nd
Warrant Arrest - MacDonald Ave / I-80:
At 0158 hours, an officer contacted a 21 year old Vacaville man during a traffic stop. He was wanted on Solano County warrant for driving on a suspended license. He was field cited, issued a citation for driving on a suspended license and his vehicle was impounded.

Located missing person – 9800 San Pablo Ave.
At 0932 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 35-year-old Berkeley man. The officer conducted a records check and found that the man had been reported as a missing person at risk to Berkeley PD in April. The man appeared healthy and had money. The man’s mental health was evaluated and he did not appear to be a danger to himself or others. The man was removed from the Missing and Unidentified Persons system.

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia, False personation, Parole violation – 1000 EC Plaza.
At 1309 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 41-year-old Richmond man. The officer conducted a records check and found that the man was on probation. The officer conducted a search of the man and located methamphetamine and a glass pipe. However, the man provided the officer with his cousin’s name. When his true name was revealed in booking, the man was found to be a parolee. The man’s parole officer was contacted and his parole was violated. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public Intoxication - 3090 EC Plaza:
At 1952 hours, an officer responded to the report of a barefooted subject causing a disturbance in numerous businesses at the EC Plaza. The subject a 41 year old Berkeley male went behind the counter and was yelling at the baristas. He was heavily intoxicated. He was transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Commercial Burglary - 11820 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0212 hours, Officers responded to the report of a burglary that just occurred. A citizen spotted a woman smash out the window of the business office at Steve’s Automotive and climb in. An officer found a 30 year old transient Richmond woman nearby. She was found to have broken glass in her clothing and was identified as the responsible. She was arrested, booked and interviewed and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.
