Metro Sheriff’s Detectives seeking help in identifying suspect from May 13th slashing on a Metro Bus #LASD

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Transit Policing Division, are seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect who slashed a patron on Metro bus line 210, on May 13, 2015, at approximately 6:15 AM. Detectives believe the male, Black, suspect, had a verbal exchange with the victim as they boarded the bus, and later intentionally cut the victim in the face several times with what witnesses described as a box cutter, prior to running off the bus at Crenshaw Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue. The 36 year old, male, victim sustained multiple complex lacerations to his face that will most likely require reconstructive surgery, according to the doctors who treated him.

LASD Transit Detective Tom Inocente says that although they have photos of the suspect obtained from the interior of the bus and from a local business (see attached), they have not been able to obtain an identity on the suspect. “This is of great concern to us as this person attacked the victim when he did not pose a threat to him. He (suspect) indeed poses a threat to the community and needs to be taken into custody.”

Detective Sergeant Paul Valle says: “A crime like this committed on a bus is indeed rare and demands our full attention to identify and apprehend the assailant. That’s why in a situation like this, we need someone to step forward and help us identify the person responsible.” Please take a close look at the photographs. The suspect is described as male, Black, black hair, brown eyes, 5’ 6”, 165 pounds, 28 to 34 years old. Reports are that he frequents the area in which the crime occurred. If you see him, do not approach. He should be considered dangerous.
