Use extra caution crossing creeks in the high county in San Juan County. The snowpack is melting off quickly causing high spring runoff in the backcountry. In the last five days the Sheriff's Office has reported four vehicles trapped in the high water and 1 fatality of a 19-year-old swept under a snow bridge.
