Narrative:
Thousand Oaks Police Investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who appears to have used his family to assist in distracting an elderly disabled female before stealing her wallet with money, credit cards and jewelry. The crime was captured on video and shows clear view of the crime, the suspect and his vehicle.

On June 10, 2015, an elderly female victim was getting gas at a local station in the City of Thousand Oaks. The suspect appeared to also be getting gas and was with an adult female and one or more children. The suspect told the victim he could fix scratches and other minor damage on her car and the video shows the suspect walking around the car for an extended period of time.

At one point, the suspect told the victim to give her telephone number to his wife, who was sitting in the suspect’s car. When the victim went to do this, the video shows the suspect reaching into the victim’s car and stealing her wallet. The video then shows the suspect crouching down beside the driver’s side door before concealing the victim’s wallet inside his pants. The suspect then quickly got in his own car and left the area with the female and children.

The attached videos show the crime occurring and clear footage of the suspect inside the store making a purchase before committing the crime.

The suspect is described by witnesses at the scene as a middle-eastern man between 35-45 years old, heavy set and driving a black Kia Soul.

Thousand Oaks Police Investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect in the video and are asked to call Sergeant Jason Robarts at (805) 947-8108 if they have any information about the identity of the suspect.
