The Palmdale Sheriff's Station and the City of Palmdale would like to invite the public to attend our annual Palmdale Safety Expo.  This free, one day event will be held at the main entrance of the Antelope Valley Mall, 1233 West Avenue P, this Saturday, June 20, 2015, between 10 am and 2 pm.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, Animal Control,  U.S. Forest Service, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, American Red Cross, and Antelope Valley CERT, are just a few of the many exhibitors who will be present for this event.  The Sheriff's K-9, local resident deputies and several other specialized law enforcement teams will also be present.  

Other events at the Safety Expo include a "Dunk a Deputy" dunk tank courtesy of Antelope Valley Harley-Davidson and Kid's Charities of the Antelope Valley, and a climbing rock wall, courtesy of the Antelope Valley Search and Rescue Team.  We will also be hosting a "Bearcat Pull Challenge".  This event will pit teams against each other to see who can pull our station's Bearcat Armored Rescue Vehicle the quickest over a short distance.  Anyone can form a team, from kids to adults, and try to pull this 17,000 pound vehicle the fastest.

Although this event is completely free, we will be accepting donations of any amount for "999 for Kids".  This is a children's charity which provides special funding to help physically and mentally challenged children who are medically vulnerable or are victims of the most severe cases of child abuse, neglect and family violence.
